Bargain lookout! USB drives at Futureshop
About a month or so ago, I bought a 4GB Kingston flash drive at Future Shop - for $10! There must have been some crazy sale going on and I (regrettably) only purchased 1. They are now selling for $40! FORTY!! Insane!
If you’re looking for a cheap flash drive, head on over to Future Shop - they still have one of them on sale - the 2GB version for only $6.99! They’re perfect for school and work. Stock up!!
Sometimes, warranties are fabulous.
Last year, I purchased this pair of Bose headphones:
I loved them dearly - until they completely went kaput today in the middle of my workout. How infuriating! I bought them for $130 at the time, and that’s way more than I am willing to pay this time around.
Luckily, when I purchased them, I also bought the extra Warranty that Future Shop was providing. This covers a lot of things that are under $200 - they will replace it within the warranty time. So, I trekked on downtown and complained about how I had to finish the stairmaster without any (good) music (okay, I didn’t, but I did whine a little, I’m sure). They quickly replaced it with a brand new package of the same pair of headphones. Relief!
Pros: They replaced it with no questions asked.
Cons: Apparently, after you fulfil a ‘replacement’ credit during your warranty time, if your item poops out on you again before your warranty is up, they will give you store credit instead. Wtf?! Didn’t I pay for 2 years? Isn’t it called a ‘Product Replacement Plan’? D’UHRRR.
Oh well, at least I have a new pair of headphones! I lost a couple of the in-ear covers during a snowfall (and mysteriously found it on the sidewalk after the snow had melted) anyways.
So with that - maybe it’s worth spending an extra $15 on a Warranty on beloved items. Oh how I love thee!
Fancy new MK shoes!
I haven’t purchased anything in the last few weeks (aside from Lush’s Mask of Magnaminty - which I totally recommend!) due to lack of motivation, but I had to have these! Mmm, I love Michael Kors!
Also, I will be posting more of my mobile photos from now on - I don’t take nearly enough and I have this fancy thingamabob phone that just kind of sits around. I love her, though. I should name her. Phoney.
Chuck Palahniuk on the big screen again
A few years ago, I read the book Choke by Chuck Palahniuk - and while it was a fairly messed up book, I was pretty happy when I saw a poster on Queen street advertising it’s movie version. As soon as I got home, I searched for the trailer:
I’m not really sure how great this movie is going to be. I think David Fincher did such a great job on Fight Club that this might just fall short. The trailer seems to portray the main character as a more comedic person - when I really got the sense that he was a lot darker in the book. I’m afraid that the director, Clark Gregg, will miss that important tone that went throughout the book and make this some movie I’m going to skip over at Blockbuster. That would be a damn shame because I think Palahniuk is brilliant (though pretty effed up - his novels are usually very dark and he had a pretty dark past - his father was murdered and burned).
Regardless, I may go see this in theatres. Maybe. Probably.
In other, completely unrelated news, I bought a pair of Michael Kors pumps and I can’t stop wearing them around the apartment. Whatevaaaah, they’re gawgeous.
A brand-spankin new layout!
I knew it wouldn’t be too long before I had to re-design. I really dig it (for now) and am really excited to decorate the header a little more :)
Completed: #31, #32
Completed: Visit St. Lawrence Market, Visit the Distillery District.
I don’t have any photos of St. Lawrence Market, but it was a quiet Sunday morning that was spent there a few weeks ago. Boyfriend & I grabbed some brunch, walked around and gazed at all the merchants and their goodies. The only purchase made that day was a $5 necklace that I really dig (picture to follow).
This afternoon, Boyfriend & I spent a good few hours walking through the Distillery District’s cobblestone streets. Tasty panini’s, and even tastier homemade ice cream! Mmmm, PB&J ice cream!
On a non 101-things topic, things have gotten a little less hectic in my life, and I am finding a LOT more free time on my hands. I plan on taking advantage of the great weather we’ve been having as well as diving straight into a few books that I have been meaning to indulge in. Toodles, Summer! You have been an interesting one… now, on to the boots and the wonderful jackets of Autumn!
Kate Spade shoes - I am impressed!
I am not generally a Kate Spade fan - I don’t really like her handbags all that much - and because of that, she is one designer that I am quick to pass through. That is, until I saw a few of her shoes! Now I’m really dying for a pair! Or five :)
Check them out after the jump! more »
